Summit County Covid transmission level downgraded to moderate
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Summit County is now listed as ‘moderate’, under the Utah Department of Health’s (UDOH) COVID-19 transmission index.
In August, the county was upgraded to the ‘high’ level.
Summit County is one of only four counties in the state (Rich, Daggett, and Piute Counties) not listed as an area of high Covid transmission by UDOH.
Summit County continues to outpace the rest of the state when it comes to vaccinations. 73% of all residents in Summit County are fully vaccinated. For the entire state of Utah, that figure is 51%.
“We are grateful to everyone doing their part to keep cases down,” said the Summit County Health Department in a post.
The transmission index metrics for the moderate level are as follows:
7-day average percent positivity
5.1-9.9%
14-day case rate per 100K population*
101 – 324 /100K
Statewide ICU utilization
(7-day average)
Total utilization 69-71.9%
AND
6-14.9% COVID-19 ICU Utilization
—
The level is determined if a county has two of the three metrics in the designated level.
