Summit County is offering a $100 reward to employees that receive a vaccine
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Matt Leavitt, Summit County’s Financial Officer, told Townlift on Wednesday that the county is offering a $100 reward to employees and their spouses if they have received a COVID-19 vaccine.
Leavitt said this was in response to the county’s health insurance provider, SelectHealth, offering a similar $100 incentive to those unvaccinated employees and their spouses.
County Personnel Director David Warnock said that since the incentive program was just recently implemented, there isn’t specific data on how many individuals have elected to get vaccinated because of the award.
Summit County is far ahead of the rest of the state when it comes to vaccination rates. 64.1 percent of Utahns 18 and older are fully vaccinated. For that same demographic in Summit County, 88 percent are fully vaccinated.
99 percent of Summit County residents that are 65 are older are fully vaccinated.
