Parley’s Canyon Fire mapped to 619 acres
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — As of 11:15 am on Sunday, August 15, an aerial survey of the Parley’s Canyon Fire puts size at 619 acres down from earlier estimates of 2,000 and 1,500 acres according to Summit County officials.
“Spot fires are near the ridge above Summit Park but no homes are currently threatened,” the County’s post said.
Earlier this morning, it was reported that the fire’s size was 1500 acres and 0% contained.
Evacuations are still in place as of this time.
Current list of areas under evacuation: Summit Park, Pine Brook, Lambs Canyon & Mill Creek. Estimated at 6000-8000 homes. An evacuation shelter has been set up at Park City High School.
Businesses in lower Pinebrook are open. Also, on Sunday morning, the Summit County Sheriff said that residents can make quick trips to their homes to retrieve belongings after signing in with deputies.
On Sunday morning, Summit County said in a post that evacuation orders could last into Tuesday.
