PCCF’s Women’s Giving Fund awards grant to Jewish Family Service
PARK CITY, Utah. — Yesterday the Park City Community Foundation (PCCF) announced that the winner of its annual Women’s Giving Fund grant is Jewish Family Service (JFS).
The $40,000 grant will create a support group and safety net services for those in caregiver roles, including those caring for older adults and people with a disability or dementia. JFS knows that caregivers experience some of the highest rates of emotional and financial stress nationwide. A robust support group will include mental health counseling, restorative activities, and emergency financial assistance for caregivers so that they can keep their loved ones at home, wrote Christine Coleman of PCCF in a statement.
“This has been an amazing year for JFS; I couldn’t be prouder of the staff and the board for all the work they’ve done,” said Ellen Silver, Executive Director of Jewish Family Service, to PCCF. “Now to have been granted this opportunity to address the needs of a community and a population that really hasn’t had their needs addressed is such an amazing gift. I speak for the board and the staff when I say thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we are beyond anxious to get to work.”

Youth Sports Alliance and EATS Park City were also finalists and they each received $15,000 from anonymous donors who wanted to provide extra support to the runners-up.
- Youth Sports Alliance’s (YSA) proposal aimed to hire additional staff to expand afterschool opportunities in North Summit School District, South Summit School District, and Weilenmann School of Discovery. This expansion would had offered afterschool programming opportunities for 1,413 additional children. YSA supports 1st – 9th graders in Summit and Wasatch Counties in afterschool sports and activities. Donations to YSA may be made here.
