DNR says don’t fish in Mill Creek near 3800 South
During a construction project on I-215 yesterday, some concrete was spilled into Mill Creek near 3800 South and Upland.
Biologists from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources confirmed that a significant amount of fish were killed due to increased pH levels in the water.
“All the impacts are west of I-215, and we have not yet confirmed fish kills in the area below 2000 East, but we are still assessing,” DWR said in a statement.
The population near the spill area is a majority of Bonneville cutthroat trout and brown trout.
“Health officials recommend avoiding that area.”
It is advised to not eat any fish that may have been impacted by the spill.
