A new documentary: ‘A Journey to Sundance’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — A California production company has launched a new movie about the Sundance Film Festival. The film, “A Journey to Sundance,” depicts the journey of a group of filmmakers hoping to understand the Sundance Film Festival and the independent film industry.

The feature-length documentary film is directed by Julian Starks and it follows the 13-year-long journey of a group of passionate filmmakers, including himself, seeking to understand Sundance.

The movie is available now through the streaming platform Tubi and on Google Play.

“‘A Journey To Sundance’ examines the crushing reality of the fierce competition of the motion picture industry and the struggles of many young directors,” said a spokesperson for the film.

Robert Redford saw the documentary in 2012 and encouraged Julian Starks to re-shoot it, resulting in the final product that is available now.
