Police seek public’s help after 7-year old girl shot and killed in Wasatch County

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah. — The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help after a 7-year-old girl was shot and killed in Heber Friday night.

On July 9th at about 10:35 p.m., A man called 911 saying he was on the way to Heber Valley Hospital with his 7-year-old daughter. At approximately 10:50 p.m., the Heber Valley Hospital called the 911 Center stating there was a 7-year-old girl in the Emergency Department with a gunshot wound.

Despite the best efforts of hospital staff, at about 11:30 pm, the 7 year old child died.

Wasatch County Deputies responded to both the hospital and the girl’s home at the Wasatch Commons Apartments in Heber City.

“Shortly after deputies arrived at the residence, they heard a gunshot coming from inside or close to a neighboring apartment.” Deputies approached and took three intoxicated individuals into custody.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for any information you may have of suspicious activity in the area of the Wasatch Commons Apartments on the evening of July 9th.
