Nann Worel announces mayoral candidacy
In a brief press release on Tuesday, Park City Council member Nann Worel announced that she is challenging incumbent Mayor Andy Beerman for the city’s mayoral position.
“There is no arguing the challenges facing present-day Park City and our community’s future include traffic, housing, affordability, sustainability, and inclusivity,” Worel said. “What is lacking, however, is an environment where diverse opinions are welcomed with civility and without judgment. What is needed is a more transparent and collaborative process driven by those who elect my peers and me to represent and advocate for our residents.”
If elected, Worel would become Park City’s first female mayor. She joined the Park City Council in 2016 and is currently serving her second term.
Worel purchased a second home in Park City in 2003 and five years later moved full-time from Seattle, Washington. Since her move, she has been involved with many community organizations. Worel was a member of the Leadership Park City Class and worked on the Park City Planning Commission from 2011 until her election into the Park City Council.
