Car Burglaries Slam Canyons Resort Area

PARK CITY, Utah. — On the morning of March 1st, six car burglaries occurred in the Canyons Resort Drive area. Lieutenant Andrew Wright of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said he believes the break-ins happened the previous night.

Five of the victims’ vehicles were left unlocked overnight, with valuables left inside. One vehicle’s rear passenger window was broken. The suspect or suspects took property including wallets, purses, and identifying paperwork from five of the six vehicles. One vehicle had no property taken. Stolen cards were later used at a store in Salt Lake City.

“Always take your valuables inside your home,” Wright said. “Don’t leave anything out in your vehicle that you wouldn’t want a criminal to get their hands on. And especially, lock your vehicle. We have a low crime rate in Summit County and it’s a safe area to live but it doesn’t exempt us from becoming victim to property crime like this.”

There is no suspect information at this time.
