When the ski season began, PCMR and other resorts went cashless to cut down on germ-spreading through money-handling. That meant that tipped employees who used to earn hundreds of dollars in tips during every shift in bustling spots like Miners Camp saw a huge portion of their income disappear. Fast forward to February: What a relief (literally) to see the tip jars are back. Skiers and boarders, remember to pack some small bills in your pockets if you plan to eat or drink on-mountain. “Everybody needs whatever they can get right now,” said a Miners Camp barista this week.
