HEBER CITY, Utah – The Wasatch Search and Rescue (SAR) helped find a father and son in the backcountry last night (Saturday, January 23). The two were stranded in Lake Creek – Timberlakes. Wasatch dispatch received a 911 emergency call from the men, who were stranded in the Wasatch backcountry.

With two feet of new snow on the ground, Search and Rescue deployed teams to the area to locate and assist the father, aged 57, and son, aged 32. Both men were tired but in good condition.

In addition to last night’s rescue, the Wasatch Search and Rescue team did ice rescue training yesterday on Deer Creek Reservoir. Their ongoing training and presence in the backcountry is growing more essential as increasing numbers of people head out to explore the wilderness.
