Register for Master Gardener Class by Jan. 15th for Discount

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah. —Time to plan ahead for the growing season. Utah State University Extension has opened class registration for the 2021 Master Gardener class registration. Summit and Wasatch counties’ training programs cost $160 until January 15th; after that, the fee will be $200. 

Master Gardener training will be held virtually on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:00 pm from January 20th through April 28th. 

Each class focuses on a different horticulture topic. Class participants will receive a link to a pre-recorded lecture before the Zoom discussion group held with a speaker/specialist of the week. 

Completion of 40 hours of horticulture-related volunteer work is required to obtain a Master Gardener Certificate. USU hopes to transition to in-person gardening workshops beginning in May, with hands-on workshops that will build on the lessons from the Master Gardener training.
