SNAPPED: Protestors Gather at Utah Capitol

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah. — Around 300 protestors surrounded the steps of the Utah State Capitol this afternoon, according to the first-hand account of Parkite Robert Blumenfeld. He said supporters of President Trump were armed with weapons including AR-15s and shotguns. Some of the people there claimed to belong to a group called the ‘Continental Marshals.’ Blumenfeld described the words protestors exchanged with him as “ominous” but the overall scene to be “peaceful at the moment.”

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall Tweeted that a Salt Lake Tribune photographer had been pepper-sprayed by a protester, and Governor Spencer Cox urged crowds to remain respectful.
