Utah Trooper Arrests Montana Man on Homicide Warrant

CEDAR CITY, Utah. — Utah State Trooper Brian Bairett arrested a Helena, Montana man on a homicide warrant Tuesday afternoon in the Cedar City area off of I-15.

According to the Utah Department of Health and Safety, Troy Allen Mullin, 37, was taken into custody and booked in the Iron County jail.

Multiple people on I-15 called the Cedar City Dispatch Center to report a reckless driver, the Utah Department of Health and Safety said. Bairett caught up to Mullin, who was traveling at nearly 100 miles per hour, and turned on his lights. Mullin started to pull over, then quickly got back on I-15, before eventually pulling off and stopping his car.

Bairett ran Mullin’s identification card and discovered he had a full extraditable warrant out of Helena, Montana, for homicide. Bairett arrested him without incident.

Bairett said he found five empty cans and one half-full beer, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia, in Mullin’s car.

Mullin has prior convictions for criminal endangerment, intimidation, burglary, escape, and sexual intercourse without consent.
