PCHS Miners football go into OT before season-opener loss to Sky View 13-10

LOGAN, Utah — The Park City High School Football team lost their first game of the season in Northern Utah on Friday night with a final score of 13 – 10.

The Miners’ non-region game against the Bobcats was an away match as construction wraps up on the home field.

The match-up stayed scoreless through the first half, letting the teams get a feel for the new season and test their pre-season training. But then, it was go-time.

The Miners scored a third-quarter touchdown, which the Bobcats answered with a fourth-quarter touchdown. City’s senior Ethan Cunningham scored a ten-yard TD run followed by a good kick.

Sophomore Knox Groenenboom completed a 35-yard overtime field goal for Park City.

Sky View scored the game-winning six-yard rushing touchdown.

The Miners will now prepare for their challenge against Ridgeline Riverhawks in Millville in a non-league game on Friday, Aug. 21.
