Morgan shuts out Park City football 35-0

KAMAS, Utah — The Park City High School Miners varsity football team fell to the Morgan High School Trojans 35-0 Friday night in a home game played at South Summit High School.

Park City hosted the nonconference matchup at the neutral Kamas venue while construction continues on the Miners’ new stadium.

Morgan opened the scoring with a passing touchdown and a successful extra point in the first quarter. Park City later intercepted a Trojans pass, but Morgan extended its lead before halftime, including an 80-yard scoring play, to take a 21-0 advantage into the break.

The Miners recorded another interception before halftime.

Morgan added two passing touchdowns in the third quarter to make it 35-0. Neither team scored in the fourth.

Park City finished the game with four interceptions. Senior Matix Black and junior Easton Jones each recorded one, while junior Kaleb Collier had two.

The Miners will travel to Orem to face Mountain View High School on Friday.
