Park City Song Summit returns to Park City with added free events for the community

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Song Summit returns Aug. 27-29 with an expanded lineup of free community events at Library Field.

The weekend’s wellness programming begins at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, with a 5K fun run and walk led by three-time James Beard Foundation Award-winning chef Gregory Gourdet. Participants will meet at the Song Summit Foundation tent at Library Field, next to the Park City Library.

The run and walk will be followed by an interview with Gourdet hosted by Song Summit founder Ben Anderson. The event is free and open to the public.

Free Mindful Mornings sessions will continue at Library Field on Friday and Saturday:

  • 9-10 a.m.: Yoga with Tommy Rosen
  • 10-11 a.m.: Meditation and breathwork integration with KJ Ward of The Backseat Lovers

Participants should bring their own mats. The sessions will take place rain or shine, but attendees are encouraged to check the Park City Song Summit website for updates.

Free live music will begin later each day on the Foundation Stage, featuring emerging performers from the Song Summit Foundation’s Summit Rising program. Friday’s performances are scheduled from 11:45 a.m.-7 p.m., while Saturday’s lineup will run from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Song Summit Village will be open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Library Field. No tickets are required, and all ages are welcome.

An award-winning chef bake sale will also be held from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. both days in the village’s Chef Tent, featuring treats and desserts from chefs Damaris Phillips, Stephanie Izard, and Andrew Zimmern.

Park City Song Summit officially begins Thursday, Aug. 27, with culinary and musical events. Tickets are available through the event’s website. This year, attendees may also purchase tickets to individual Summit Lab programs at the Jim Santy Auditorium.

Those interested in the free programming can explore additional ticketed events at the auditorium, The Marquis, and participating Park City restaurants.
