Kimball Arts Festival returns Friday with free night for Summit County locals

Residents and homeowners must register online in advance and bring proof of residency to receive complimentary admission

PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Kimball Arts Festival returns to Historic Main Street this weekend, opening Friday evening with free admission for Summit County residents and homeowners who register in advance.

The 57th annual festival runs Friday through Sunday, Aug. 7-9, and features nearly 200 juried artists working across 13 mediums, along with live music, food, artist demonstrations and family activities.

Locals’ Night is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. Although admission is free for eligible residents and homeowners, tickets must be reserved online before the festival. Complimentary tickets will not be available at the entrance, according to Kimball Art Center.

Those registering may reserve one adult ticket and up to two tickets for children ages 6 to 17 per order. Children 5 and younger are admitted free and do not need a ticket.

Attendees must bring a valid photo ID showing a Summit County address. Those whose ID does not show their current address must also bring a recent utility bill or another piece of mail showing their name and Summit County address. Registration information must match the residency documents presented at the festival.

Friday night programming includes music on two stages, with performances by Love & Chaos, Cosmic Possum, Trio Fratelli and Will Baxter. Visitors can also explore artist booths, food trucks and the Creation Station on Heber Avenue, which offers a free collaborative mural, a scavenger hunt and additional hands-on activities.

General admission for nonresidents is $15 for adults and $7 for children ages 6 to 17. Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Festival proceeds support Kimball Art Center exhibitions, arts education and community programming. The center does not collect commissions from festival artwork sales, allowing participating artists to retain the full proceeds.

Locals’ Night registration and general admission tickets are available through the Kimball Arts Festival website.
