PARK CITY — Runners hit the slopes at Deer Valley Resort on Wednesday, June 10, for one of the season’s stops on the Wasatch Trail Run Series circuit.

The series, now in its 14th year, draws a wide range of participants to the Wasatch mountains each Wednesday evening from April through August. Race director and founder, Mitt Stewart, described Wednesday’s event as one of the series’ standout nights.
Each race offers a short course of roughly 4.5 to 5 miles and a long course of 8 to 9 miles, designed to welcome athletes of all abilities. Walkers are as welcome as runners, and Wednesday’s event featured a bluegrass band, yoga, and a picnic on the lawn.
“We’ve been around for 14 years, we’re pretty affordable and welcoming to everyone,” Stewart said. “If you’re interested in running, coming out and moving your body and having some fun, we’d love to have you.”

More races ahead
The Wasatch Trail Run Series continues through August, with upcoming races at Solitude on June 24, Alta on July 8, Snowbird on July 15, Brighton on July 29, and additional races through Aug. 26. All events take place on Wednesday evenings. Registration and full schedule information is available at runontrails.com.
