PARK CITY, Utah — Sail Park City is hosting its annual Summer Sailstice open house Saturday, June 21, at the Park City Sail Center at Jordanelle Reservoir State Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The free, family-friendly event will include boat rides, information about sailing programs, food for sale, games, and live music. No registration is required, though an RSVP is available at sailpc.org.
“Sailing with Park City Sailing is such an incredible way to experience the Jordanelle,” said Scott VerMerris, director of sailing and community engagement. “A lot of people don’t yet realize what an incredible recreational opportunity we have with sailing right here, just 10 minutes from town. It’s like stepping into another world when you come here, and it’s so much easier to get out sailing than you think.”
Founded in 2008, Sail Park City serves sailors of all ages and experience levels through outreach, access to boats, racing, social events, and educational programming. The organization operates a fleet of well-maintained boats and has introduced more than 2,500 children to the sport through camps, competitions, and clubs. About 1,200 adults are active in the Sail Park City community.
