Park City Community Foundation launches resource van to bring services across Summit County

New mobile pilot will connect families with free health screenings, mental wellness support, enrollment help, and other nonprofit services

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Community Foundation has launched a new resource van designed to bring nonprofit services directly to neighborhoods and community centers across Summit County.

The van will be unveiled on Thursday, June 18, at the Community Foundation’s annual Summer Solstice Family Celebration. The program is intended to reduce barriers for families and individuals who may struggle to reach service providers due to transportation, work schedules, or other access challenges.

The van will operate as a scheduled, bilingual outreach resource. Local nonprofit partners will use it to offer services such as health screenings, mental wellness support, enrollment assistance, early childhood resources, and youth program sign-ups. Services will be free for Summit County residents.

“For so many families in our community, the barrier to accessing services isn’t a lack of need, it’s transportation, work schedules, and trust,” said Joel Zarrow, president and CEO of Park City Community Foundation. “Our goals are to expand access to critical services for our entire community and to increase the service delivery of nonprofit partners.”

The Community Foundation will manage the van, allowing nonprofit partners to focus on providing services. The first phase of the pilot will include People’s Health Clinic, Holy Cross Ministries, and the Summit County Health Department.

The program is expected to run two to four days per week across Summit County during the summer and fall, beginning in July. The Community Foundation said the pilot will be evaluated and adjusted based on community demand.

The model draws inspiration from similar mobile outreach programs in mountain communities, including Eagle County, Colorado.

“The resource van is about meeting people where they already are,” said José Chacón, community engagement manager at Park City Community Foundation. “We’re showing up in their neighborhood, alongside our trusted nonprofit partners, removing barriers where we can.”

Chacón said the van builds on relationships the Community Foundation has developed through other programs, including Youth United.

“The van is a natural next step, bringing that same warmth and consistency into additional resources our community needs every day,” he said.

Residents can find the van’s schedule and more information at parkcitycf.org/van.
