SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Summit County voters have until June 12 to register and receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the 2026 primary election.
Utah residents with a current driver’s license can register, update their registration, or check their status at voter.utah.gov.
Ballots are scheduled to be mailed beginning June 2 ahead of the June 23 primary, according to previous TownLift reporting. Any registered voter who is not a Democrat but wants to participate in the Democratic primary must request a Democratic ballot by 5 p.m. on June 12. Voters may cast a ballot in only one party’s primary.
Residents who miss the June 12 deadline but are otherwise eligible may still vote provisionally in person during early voting or on Primary Election Day.
The Clerk’s Office is encouraging voters to check their registration, particularly those who have moved out of state and returned, moved to Summit County from another county, changed their legal name, or have not voted in the last two presidential elections.
This year’s cycle has already brought a series of voting-related deadlines. Voters who wanted to change party affiliation before the primary had until April 1 to do so, TownLift previously reported. TownLift also reported on changes under S.B. 153, a 2026 election law that revised how Utah classifies voter registration records and affected voters whose records had been listed as private or withheld.
The June 12 deadline lands during a local election season that includes contested Summit County races. In Utah, candidates can qualify for a primary ballot either by winning enough support from party delegates at a convention or by gathering enough verified voter signatures. Summit County candidates used both routes earlier this year.
