LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON – After holding out longer than any other major Utah resort, Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort has officially announced it will close for the 2025-26 ski season on May 10.
The resort had been the last major Utah ski area without a confirmed closing date as the state’s winter season winds down.
Until then, Snowbird has shifted to weekend-only operations, running lifts Friday through Sunday through this weekend. For its final weekend, the resort plans to operate only on Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10.
According to the resort, this weekend’s lift operations are expected to include the Aerial Tram, Peruvian Express, Mineral Basin and Little Cloud. Lift and terrain access for the final closing weekend has not yet been announced.
The announcement effectively marks the final stretch of Utah’s ski season, with most other resorts already closed for the year.
