Park City School District names Laura Heise as Ecker Hill assistant principal

PARK CITY, Utah — Laura Heise, a longtime Park City School District educator with a background in literacy and multilingual instruction, will become assistant principal at Ecker Hill Middle School for the 2026-27 school year.

Heise has more than two decades of experience in education, including district roles as a student services dean, instructional coach, MTSS literacy teacher, and literacy interventionist at McPolin Elementary and Ecker Hill Middle School.

Her academic and professional focus has centered on literacy for multilingual learners. Her doctoral research at the University of Utah examined how bilingual and multilingual adolescents develop literacy skills, and she holds endorsements in English as a second language and reading, as well as LETRS and Orton-Gillingham certifications.

Superintendent Lyndsay Huntsman said Heise’s familiarity with the district shaped the decision.

“Laura is exactly the leader Ecker Hill needs as we look to the future,” Huntsman said. “What sets her apart is the combination of expertise in multilingual literacy and dedication to our students. Having already served our community as an instructional coach and dean, she understands the unique strengths and needs of our families. I’m confident her knowledge and skill set will elevate our entire learning community.”

Ecker Hill Middle School serves students in grades 6 through 8.
