From beginner to trail-ready: White Pine Touring’s women’s clinics return this summer

PARK CITY, Utah — From first-timers to experienced trail riders, White Pine Touring has a full lineup of women’s mountain biking clinics this summer, with options ranging from beginner basics to intermediate skills. New this year, the curriculum has been updated to give riders the opportunity to progress at their own pace.

The Women’s MTB Skills 101 Clinic is the starting point for riders new to off-road riding. Sessions are held on Wednesday evenings and cover the fundamentals, including bike balance, body positioning, proper braking and shifting gears, all in a low-pressure, supportive environment. Bike rentals are included in the $79 per-person fee, and no prior experience is necessary. The next session is June 3 at 6 p.m.

Riders who have completed the 101 course can take the next step with the MTB Applied Skills 101 Clinic on Saturday, June 6, at 8:30 a.m. This session is designed to help participants put what they’ve learned into practice on actual trail, with the same encouraging instructors and no-pressure atmosphere. Bike rentals are also included.

For those already comfortable on green and blue trails, White Pine Touring is offering two intermediate 201 clinics led by women, for women.

The MTB Climbing 201 Clinic on Wednesday, June 17, at 6 p.m. focuses on traction, power and balance on ascents, along with line choice, body positioning and strategies for staying confident and efficient on long, technical climbs.

The MTB Cornering 201 Clinic teaches riders to move with more flow, speed and control on descents, with an emphasis on line choice, body positioning and building momentum through technical and flowy sections. The next session is on Saturday, June 20, at 8:30 a.m.

All clinics are led by experienced, encouraging instructors and are designed to build skills while fostering a community of women who support and uplift each other on the trail. All clinics cost under $100, and the 101 clinics include bike rental if needed.

Coed clinics offering the same skill building are also available throughout the summer and can be found here.
