PCHS softball sportsmanship support hits it out of the park

PARK CITY, Utah — Batting roughly over 400 as a team, the Park City High School Miners Softball Team has had some major league wins this season, like when they beat Cottonwood, at home, earlier in the spring, 38 to 28, “Which was like a football score,” Head Coach Ashley Manusos told TownLift.

Watch the video below of Thursday’s game against Jordan.

She said they’re in a bit of a “roller coaster” phase, with some really great things happening, then sometimes just forgetting how to execute the routine things. “Outside of today, we’ve been doing well.”

She’s referring to the Varsity Miners’ loss to Jordan High School from Sandy on Thursday.

Overall, this season, she explained, they’ve done really well offensively. In the last three years, they’re up almost 200 points in batting average. “So that’s good defensively as we continue to build and develop.”

This is one of those years when they’re simply making a positive impact on student-athletes, helping them continue to come and play and give it their best.

“The coolest thing is, we continue to have kids that have graduated come back and participate in helping the girls, just coming to practices and games and cheering on the team and showing up, literally and figuratively. which I think just says a lot about this program and this school.”
