PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort will close for the 2025–26 ski season on Sunday, March 29, resort officials announced Thursday.
The closing date comes after a winter marked by a slow start and a compressed window of peak conditions across Park City’s resorts.

All Deer Valley Season Passes will be valid through a Season Pass Holder Appreciation Weekend which runs March 28–29. Visitors will be given a complimentary appreciation lunch at Snow Park Lodge or Silver Lake Lodge and receive a voucher valid for an entrée, beverage, and Deer Valley cookie.
Both Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resort opened in early December — Dec. 6 and Dec. 5, respectively — but terrain expansion lagged into January amid limited early-season snowfall. By the Christmas holiday, Deer Valley had opened just a fraction of its terrain, reflecting broader conditions across the region.
Available terrain and lift access gradually improved through January and February, with the resort reaching near full operations only in late February.
That peak, however, was short-lived.
By early to mid-March, terrain availability had already begun to decline, with both resorts closing lifts as warming temperatures and spring conditions set in.
Taken together, the data suggests Deer Valley was operating at or near full capacity for only a few weeks this season.
The condensed peak reflects a winter that started late and transitioned quickly into spring-like conditions, limiting the duration of optimal skiing despite the resort hoping to remain open into mid-April.
Deer Valley will continue daily operations through its scheduled closing date, conditions permitting.
