TEDxParkCity Women announces two more speakers for Feb. 10 gathering

PARK CITY, Utah — TEDxParkCity Women has announced two additional speakers for its annual daylong event Feb. 10, 2026, at Waldorf Astoria Park City.

The newly announced speakers are Peabody- and Emmy-nominated director Abby Ellis, whose film “The Lake” premiered at Sundance, and confectioner-entrepreneur Phyllis Robinson of Tandem Chocolates.

Ellis’ documentary examines environmental risks tied to the shrinking Great Salt Lake and the region’s worsening air quality, including concerns that toxic dust could become airborne from the exposed lakebed, organizers said.

“Abby’s film strikes at the heart of our very existence in Utah,” said co-organizer Terri Orr. “The air, the water, and the land. She takes a gimlet-eyed view of the most serious environmental crisis in this state that also affects all our surrounding neighbors.”

Robinson, a former Park City resident, will return to share her professional journey from working with nuns to city strategy and eventually building an award-winning chocolate company now producing in Reno, Nevada.

Ellis and Robinson join previously announced speaker Tatyana Kanzaveli, chief executive of OpenHealth, who will discuss how artificial intelligence is shaping health care in underserved communities.

“Tatyana and I met through the TED community decades ago, and her influence and interests expand far beyond the vast world of tech and AI,” Orr said. “Her early success as a chess master in her youth and her continued support of women in all workplaces is amazing.”

“The program will have much food for thought and the soul—TED’s signature mix of smart conversation and surprises,” said co-organizer Bari Nan Rothchild. “These three speakers offer a variety of perspectives, representing Technology, Entertainment, and Design.”

The Feb. 10 program will also include recorded talks curated from TEDNext, along with breakout activities and small-group discussions, organizers said. The program begins at 9 a.m., with check-in, beverages, and light bites beforehand.

The event is limited to 75 guests ages 18 and older. Tickets cost $125.

Event sponsors include Park City Chamber/Bureau; Graystone Consulting from Morgan Stanley; Heidi and Peter Gatch; the Dream Team of Sara Werbelov and Melissa Band; and Proforma Peak Studio.

TEDxParkCity began in 2008 and plans additional programming in 2026, including TEDxDiscovery sessions, TEDxSalons, and TEDxParkCity Youth. The organization operates under the nonprofit umbrella of Utah Film Center.
