PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort is introducing a new private on-mountain experience that combines guided skiing, local history and rare whiskey tastings in partnership with High West Distillery.
The “High West & History on the Slopes” tours will be offered Tuesday, Feb. 24, and Tuesday, March 24, blending skiing across terrain tied to Park City’s silver-mining era with a fondue lunch and tasting at the resort’s Chute Eleven Yurt. Each session runs from 9:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. and costs $350 per person; attendees must be 21 or older.
“High West & History on the Slopes is rooted in the stories and setting that define Park City,” said Deer Valley Communications Director Emily Summers. “By pairing historic terrain and storytelling with a curated tasting from High West’s local whiskey library, this experience offers a distinctive way to connect with the heritage and character of the mountain, both past and present.”
Led by Deer Valley Mountain Hosts, the half-day tours will highlight areas connected to the town’s mining heritage. Guests will then gather slopeside at Chute Eleven for a themed cocktail, a fondue lunch and a guided tasting featuring four samples from High West’s local whiskey library, including limited and reserve selections rarely poured. Participants also receive a 375-milliliter bottle of High West whiskey and a custom gift.
Each date centers on a historical figure from Park City’s past. The Feb. 24 tour, Mid-Winter Throwback with “Lady Morgan,” while the March 24 Valley Tan with “Jack Keetley.”
Lift tickets are not included. Resort officials said the experiences are expected to sell out quickly, with limited spots available per date. Reservations and additional information are available through the resort.
