PARK CITY, Utah — While Main Street will not feature full-length films this year, there will be plenty of venues with short snippets and conversations to stimulate the mind and reminisce. Park City has designated Main Street as pedestrian-only and closed it to vehicular traffic at 10 a.m. each day from Thursday, January 22, through Monday, January 26, during the Sundance Film Festival. The Main Street closure will be from Swede Alley to 7th Street.
Official venues of the Sundance Film Festival are the Egyptian Theater, the Filmmaker Lodge, a Merchandise Store, and The Marquis. The only one of these that requires a paid ticket is the Egyptian Theater. The merchandise store is actually at 136 Heber Ave, behind Main Street.
To attend the special event at the Marquis, “Everyone Has a Story: Four Decades of the Sundance Film Festival in Utah,” create your free 2026 Sundance Film Festival account, go to Beyond Films, and click on the event. You will see an Order Ticket button. Tickets for this event are free. Adding to the appeal of the event at the Marquis is the Acura NSX Roadster, driven in Marvel’s “The Avengers”, which will be on display there.
Miner’s Park Video Wall
New this year is an outdoor LED screen in Miner’s Park which will feature a live feed of Cinema Café events presented by Audible and more festival content. For the first time ever, you can gather on Main Street in Miner’s Park and watch panels that in the past required sometimes hours of waiting outside to enter the Filmmaker’s Lodge. Gather up your friends and head to Main Street for a special 2026 Sundance Film Festival experience. The Video Wall will be running Friday, Jan. 23 – Monday, Jan. 26 for these events.
As in the past, Sundance Film Festival partners will host many panels and conversation areas. Many of these are open to the public. Those that aren’t are prime viewing spots for celebrity watching.
Those who have a Chase Sapphire credit card can head to 660 Main Street to enjoy member-only experiences, including food, drinks, and additional celebrity panels. Many of the partner venues are available for only a few days.
