PARK CITY, Utah — Santa Claus drove the Main Street Trolley through Park City with residents and city staff aboard to celebrate Park City Transit’s 50 year anniversary.

Mayor Nann Worel spoke on the moving trolley, reflecting on how Park City Transit has had a generation impact. “Today is about more than an anniversary, it’s about a decision that Park City made five decades ago that continues to shape how we connect, how we move around, and how we care about our beautiful city,” she said.
Park City Transit began in the 1970s as a free public transit system. “The answer even then wasn’t putting more cars on pavement, it was people-centered transportation,” said Worel.

Worel also thanked the operators, planners, and support staff that have and continue to make Park City Transit a reliable and convenient form of transportation for the community.
To conclude her remarks, Worel and those aboard the trolley toasted to 50 years of vision, service, and community, and the people who make it possible.

Most recently, Park City Transit announced plans for the winter bus schedule and a new winter bus service to Bonanza Flat trailhead.
