PARK CITY, Utah – A court hearing on Friday will determine whether former Park City attorney Joe Wrona will face 15-20 years in the Utah State Prison. Wrona was arrested September 22 on charges stemming from allegedly violating the No Contact Order issued January 5, 2024, by Summit County Judge Richard Mrazik in the Sexual Assault & Incest case involving his young adult daughter.
Previous to these charges, Wrona was released early in September 2024 for “good time earned” from the 364 day deal negotiated. If this plea deal is revoked, Wrona could be required to serve the full underlying sentence, with credit for the eight months he previously served in the Summit County Jail.
In January 2024, Wrona was sentenced after pleading guilty to forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony, and incest, a third-degree felony. He was to serve 364 days in Summit County Jail, undergo 48 months of supervised probation, and comply with standard sex offender conditions, including registration. Wrona was also ordered not to contact his daughter for the rest of his life.
But Wrona was released from jail for good behavior after serving 243 days in September of 2024. His release came under the terms of a 48-month supervised probation agreement.
Wrona was initially arrested in June 2022 and charged with first-degree felony rape for sexually assaulting his adult, biological daughter in the spring. That November, he pleaded guilty to one count of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony punishable by one to 15 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines, as well as one count of incest, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines.
The warrant stated Wrona is to appear before Mrazik at the next available court date. As of Tuesday morning an arrest had not yet been made.
