PARK CITY, Utah — Summit County residents will have the opportunity to dispose of their hazardous waste for free at a Recycle Utah event on September 27. Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Silver King Lot this year at the Mountain Village Base of Park City Ski.
The service is only available for individuals and households, and no materials will be accepted from businesses.
“One of our primary goals is to keep toxic chemicals and heavy metals out of our environment,” notes the Recycle Utah page. “When toxic materials like mercury, lead, and pesticides end up in the landfill they leach into the ground and your drinking water.”
Recycle Utah is also partnering with the Bicycle Collective and Sunrise Rotary to accept bikes in all conditions. They will either be sold to fund the Collective’s charitable programs or be donated to adults and children in need. All unusable pieces will be recycled.
