Summit County Clubhouse earns Clubhouse International’s top 3-year accreditation

PARK CITY, Utah — The Summit County Clubhouse has secured the highest level of accreditation offered by Clubhouse International. The three-year designation, organizers say, validates the young program’s approach to mental health and substance use recovery.

The approval, granted July 31, affirms the nonprofit’s fidelity to the evidence-based Clubhouse psychosocial rehabilitation model for adults living with mental illness, according to the accreditation report.

“For the 73 current SCC members, this accreditation confirms what we already knew to be true; our Clubhouse is an irreplaceable part of this community and members are helping to operate the program according to the highest standards and best possible quality,” Executive Director, Jen O’Brien, shared.

Auditors praised the clubhouse’s “rapid growth” and “diversity of membership, including new members that are young adults and new members that are Spanish speaking.” The report also cited “exceptional staff,” an “engaged and impactful board of directors,” an “active and robust employment program,” and an “ability to meet emergency housing needs” for members in crisis.

Summit County Clubhouse is a community-based center where members find connection, employment assistance, housing support, and educational opportunities in a single, supportive setting.

Clubhouse International, a multinational nonprofit, nurtures more than 370 clubhouses worldwide. The organization develops accreditation standards, oversees the review process, and provides training, research, and advocacy to expand the Clubhouse model.
