PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort is inviting the public to witness a pivotal moment in its ongoing transformation with a special event, “Expanded Excellence: Future in Flight,” on Saturday, July 19. The celebration marks the next phase of what will become the largest ski resort expansion in history, ahead of the 2025-26 season.

From the Scenic Overlook Trail atop Bald Mountain, guests will have a rare chance to watch helicopters fly in and install lift towers for the new East Village Express gondola and the Pinyon Express, a high-speed six-pack bubble chairlift.

“The installation of these new lift towers is part of Deer Valley’s efforts to deliver the largest ski resort expansion in history for the 2025/26 ski season, and we encourage the community to be part of this momentous day,” said Deer Valley Resort President & Chief Operating Officer Todd Bennett. “Guests can also enjoy scenic chairlift rides, food trucks, and live music on the Silver Lake Lawn to enjoy a memorable summer day at Deer Valley and an eager glimpse of what’s to come.”

Deer Valley’s “Expanded Excellence” initiative includes more than doubling its skiable terrain, a redesigned base area at Snow Park, and the addition of advanced infrastructure, including a fully automated snowmaking system. The resort’s 2025-26 winter debut will feature seven new lifts, including the East Village Express—a 10-passenger gondola connecting the new East Village base area to Park Peak.

Since December 2024, Deer Valley has added 10 new lifts and now boasts 31 total lifts and 4,300 skiable acres. The East Village will also open with 1,200 new day-skier parking spaces designed to improve accessibility and the overall guest experience.

The “Future in Flight” event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 19, with scenic chairlift rides offered throughout the day. One free child ticket (ages 5-12) will be offered with each paying adult, and children 4 and under ride for free. Complimentary parking will be available at Snow Park Lodge.

Following the aerial showcase, attendees are invited to the Silver Lake Lawn for live music, yard games, and a variety of food and drink offerings. Food trucks from Brined & Battered, Stage Side Sweets, and Deer Valley Creamery will be on-site, along with beer trailers and additional fare from Royal Street Café and The Sticky Wicket (21+).

The event offers a front-row seat to a transformative era for the resort—and a family-friendly day on the mountain in the heart of summer.
