Summer Solstice events light up the Wasatch Back

PARK CITY, Utah — From vibrant family festivals to spiritual sound baths and hands-on cocktail workshops, the Wasatch Back and surrounding areas are set to mark the 2025 summer solstice with a diverse mix of events celebrating community, creativity, and the longest day of the year.
Park City Community Foundation’s Summer Solstice Family Celebration
Kicking off the festivities in Park City, the Park City Community Foundation will host its annual Summer Solstice Family Celebration on Friday, June 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Canyons Village. This free, all-ages event will feature live music by Jake and the Heist, face painting, food and drinks, and activities for children. Local organizations will also be on site with resources for families and individuals.
Michelin-Star Dining at Goldener Hirsch
Also on June 20 and 21, the Goldener Hirsch in Deer Valley will offer a Michelin-star dinner experience from 6 to 10 p.m. Guests can expect a curated culinary evening priced at $295 per person, with an optional $175 wine pairing. The event will take place at 7520 Royal St. E, offering a luxurious way to celebrate the solstice.
Basin Recreation’s StART of Summer Color Run
On Saturday, June 21, Basin Recreation will hold its colorful kickoff to the season at Willow Creek Park. The StART of Summer Color Run invites participants of all ages to run or walk through color stations, making for a lively and vibrant community event.
Ignite the Sun Within – Summer Solstice Celebration
Later that same day, a spiritual gathering titled “Ignite the Sun Within” will take place in Park City from 3 to 6 p.m. on June 21. This soulful event invites participants to honor the solstice through connection and celebration with the local community. Location shared at registration.
Summer Solstice Peace Train
For those willing to venture beyond Park City, the Heber Valley Railroad will host its Summer Solstice Peace Train on Friday, June 20, from 7 p.m. to midnight. Departing from 450 South 600 West in Heber City, this special event offers a nighttime train ride filled with festive energy.
Solstice Stillness: A Sound Journey into Inner Light
Also on the evening of June 20, True Self Awakened will lead Solstice Stillness: A Sound Journey into Inner Light at 4885 S. 900 E., Salt Lake City, beginning at 7 p.m. The 90-minute session includes a guided meditation and 45-minute sound bath using quartz crystal singing bowls. Attendees are invited to reflect, relax, and reconnect for $20 per person. Mats and blankets will be provided.
Witch & Vibe: Summer Solstice Cocktail Magic
In Salt Lake City, the Cocktail Collective will offer a unique celebration with Witch & Vibe: Summer Solstice Cocktail Magic from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on June 20 at 824 S. 400 W. This hands-on class combines seasonal mixology with botanical lore, featuring cocktail crafting, intention setting, and herbal education. Open to guests 21 and older.
