Park City SUP Festival brings community to the water

HEBER CITY, Utah —This summer, the shores of Jordanelle State Park will come alive with music, sunshine, and standup paddling fun at the Park City SUP Festival. Held on Saturday, July 5, at the Sand Pavilion area, this one-day event is for families, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a day at the beach with a little extra excitement.

The festival features SUP (stand up paddleboard) races for all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or just looking to try something new, there’s a race for you — even the kids can get in on the action. Race classes include:

  • Kids (up to age 15) – one-mile course
  • Men/Women (16 and older) – one-mile course
  • Men/Women (16 and older) – three-mile course

Race registration is $35 per person, including a Park City SUP Festival event t-shirt. Sign-ups will occur on-site from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., with the first race scheduled around 10 a.m.

Beyond the races, the festival offers a full day of live music, food, and lakeside vibes. After the award ceremony, music will fill the air starting with the high-energy Hail Mary Band, followed by a crowd favorite — Smiling Souls Reggae Band, bringing smooth island rhythms to the beach.

Attendees will also have opportunities to learn more about the sport of standup paddling, check out local vendors, and enjoy a relaxing, fun-filled day in a scenic mountain setting.

If you’re looking for a perfect way to spend a summer Saturday, grab your sunscreen, gather your friends, and head to the Sand Pavilion at Jordanelle State Park.
