EMERY, Utah — A swift and coordinated response from multiple fire agencies prevented a brush fire north east of Echo Reservoir near the Emery interchange from spreading beyond its initial burn area on Thursday evening.
According to the North Summit Fire Service District, crews were dispatched around 6:15 p.m. to a brush fire along Interstate 80 near mile marker 179. The fire, which burned approximately one acre, was quickly brought under control with the help of responding firefighters from Uinta County, Wyoming, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire & State Lands.
“Thanks to the quick and coordinated work of all agencies, the fire was contained before it could spread further,” officials said.
