PARK CITY, Utah – Park City is taking steps to enhance its public art scene by seeking proposals for a Public Art Program Manager who will help guide the city’s long-running arts initiatives and oversee the Public Art Advisory Board (PAAB).
The move signals the city’s continued investment in a program that began in the 1980s, when local art lovers and businesses teamed up to weave creativity into the community’s identity. Over the past four decades, Park City has commissioned more than 100 public artworks that reflect the area’s history, culture, and environment—from large-scale installations to subtle, community-driven pieces.
Now, city officials are looking for a partner to help shape the future of that legacy. The selected contractor will help manage monthly PAAB meetings, guide artist selection processes, collaborate on new project ideas and funding strategies, and oversee the city’s Percent for Art program, which dedicates a portion of major capital project budgets to public art.
While the position involves coordination and project oversight, it’s also about keeping Park City’s artistic momentum alive—building on decades of public art that turns everyday spaces into reflections of the community’s identity.
Proposals are due by Wednesday, April 30 at 5:00 p.m. Full details can be found at the Park City Public Art Advisory Board website.
