Casey Dawson gets gold at Speedskating World Championships in Norway

HAMAR, Norway — Team USA are the Team Pursuit World Champions with the longtrack men Ethan Cepuran, Emery Lehman, and Casey Dawson who is a native of Park City.
On Friday, in Norway, the trio won the gold with a time of 3 minutes, 39.24 seconds.
These three skaters took home the bronze medal in the same event at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, however this was their first ever World Championship medals; “and it was GOLD!!” wrote U.S. Speedskating on social media.
Dawson, a Park City High School alumni, started the sport, with the assistance of need-based scholarships from the Youth Sports Alliance, in the Park City Speedskating Club.
Leading up to this race, these men were the World Record holders in this 3,200 meter distance of eight laps around the 400 meter oval course.
The silver at these Worlds in the Pursuit went to the men’s team from Italy, and the bronze to the Nederlands.
