Summit County launches text alerts for residents

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah – Staying informed about county events, road conditions, and public services is now easier than ever. Summit County residents can sign up for text alerts by texting SUMMITCOUNTY to 91896, opting into a new non-emergency notification system.

The Text My Gov service provides real-time updates on county service disruptions, health advisories, and road conditions. Residents can also receive targeted alerts by texting specific keywords to 91896:

  • SCROADS – Updates on road construction, snow plowing, and Public Works notices.
  • SCHEALTH – Health advisories and updates from the Health Department.
  • SCBIKE – Information about Summit Bike Share.

Additional notification categories will be introduced later this year. Starting this spring, residents will also have access to on-demand information by texting keywords to 435-495-4090, allowing them to quickly retrieve details about county departments, elected offices, and public services.
