Sundance Film Festival: What Park City residents and visitors need to know
PARK CITY, Utah — The 2025 Sundance Film Festival, running from January 23 to February 2, is set to bring a flurry of activity to Park City as independent film enthusiasts from around the world gather for the iconic event. Park City officials have released a community guide to help residents and visitors navigate the festival. Here’s what you need to know:
Transportation and Parking
- Park City Transit: Operating extended hours from 6:40 a.m. to 2 a.m. during the festival. Download the Transit App or visit parkcitytransit.org for updates.
- Richardson Flat Park-and-Ride: Free parking with shuttles running every 15 minutes to Old Town from 6:40 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resort Lots: Available for parking from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., but vehicles must vacate by 1 a.m.
- China Bridge Garage: Guaranteed parking permits available for $550 for the duration of the festival. Daily rates range from $30 to $50, depending on the date.

Transit, Shuttles, Taxis, Rideshare, and Carpool Information
Do your part to reduce congestion and Park City’s carbon footprint by taking Park City Transit, walking, biking, or carpooling. Park City’s free transit system is the easiest, most efficient, and inexpensive way to get around town.
- Park City Transit: Park City Transit services are extended during the Festival, operating 6:40 a.m.-2:00 a.m. with increased frequency. Plan your trip at parkcitytransit.org. During the Festival, the last bus leaves the Old Town Transit Center at 2:00 a.m.
- High Valley Transit (HVT): HVT is Summit County’s transportation system, serving riders in the Wasatch Back with micro and fixed route services. Visit highvalleytransit.org to plan your ride.

Free Parking with Transit
Richardson Flat Park-and-Ride: Free parking with free transit (every 15 minutes) to and from Old Town, from 6:40 a.m.-2:00 a.m., January 23-February 1. Last bus to Richardson Flat leaves the Old Town Transit Center at 2:00 a.m.
Deer Valley Resort Parking Lots: Deer Valley Resort will allow the use of Lots 5 and 6 outside of resort hours (5:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. daily) during the Festival, January 23-February 2.
Park City Mountain Village: Park City Mountain Village will allow the use of their parking lots outside resort hours (5:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. daily) during the Festival, January 23-February 2.
Paid Parking
Guaranteed Parking: A permit guaranteeing a spot in the China Bridge garage is available for $550 and valid from January 23- February 2. Entry to the garage with a Guaranteed Parking permit is from Swede Alley. This permit is available at parkcity.org or by calling 435-615-5301 during standard business hours.
Private Paid Parking: Private parking garages are available throughout Old Town. These lots have their own payment structures and regulations — costs vary $20-100+ per day
China Bridge Parking Structure Entry from Marsac Avenue only. No in and out privileges.
- Thursday, January 23 | $40, flat fee
- Friday, January 24-Saturday, January 25 | $50, flat fee
- Sunday, January 26-Tuesday, January 28 | $30, flat fee
- Wednesday, January 29-Sunday, February 2 | Standard parking rates, listed at parkcity.org
Street Adjustments
In order to reduce residential traffic, increase transit priority and ensure public safety, the following restrictions will be in place from January 23-February 1. Please follow all posted signs:
- Hillside Avenue — accessible with a Residential Access Pass only.
- Park Avenue — one-way north (downhill). Those with a Residential Access Pass may travel south.
- Main Street — Main Street from Swede Alley to 7th Street will close to vehicles at noon each day, Thursday 1/23-Monday 1/27.
- Swede Alley — accessible with a Residential Access Pass or ADA placard only.
Accessibility and Safety
- ADA parking is free with placards in designated lots, including China Bridge and Brew Pub.
- Paratransit services are available for residents and visitors. Call 435-615-5353 for details.
- Report emergencies by dialing 911. For non-emergencies, call 435-615-5500.
Dining and Lodging

Waste Management
Trash and recycling services will operate on normal schedules. For delays due to weather, visit republicservices.com.
New Features for 2025
- Drop and Load Zones: Temporary areas on Lower Main Street and Marsac Avenue allow drivers to safely drop off or pick up passengers. Double parking will result in ticketing.
- Sustainability Efforts: Residents and visitors are encouraged to carpool, use public transit, or bike to reduce congestion and support Park City’s carbon footprint goals.
