Winter Break Film Fest offers free family screenings at the Park City Library
PARK CITY, Utah — The Winter Break Film Fest, presented in partnership with Park City Film and the Park City Library, offers families free movie screenings throughout the winter break. Running from Dec. 26 through Feb. 21, the festival provides a safe and entertaining way for students and residents to enjoy afternoons and evenings while school is out of session.
With free admission and popcorn, the festival lineup features a mix of timeless classics and new releases. Films scheduled between Dec. 26 and Jan. 3 will be shown at 4 p.m. daily, with no registration required.
Upcoming Screenings:
- Thursday, Dec. 26, 4 p.m.: Little Women (2019), PG, 135 minutes
Writer-director Greta Gerwig brings Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women to life in this critically acclaimed adaptation. The story follows the March sisters — Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth — as they navigate life on their terms. The cast includes Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern, and Meryl Streep.
- Friday, Dec. 27, 4 p.m.: Inside Out 2, PG, 96 minutes
Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 explores the evolving mind of teenage Riley as new Emotions — including Anxiety — arrive at headquarters. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust face adapting to unexpected changes.
- Monday, Dec. 30, 4 p.m.: The Princess Bride, PG, 98 minutes
This fairy tale classic tells the story of a young woman and her true love as they navigate an epic quest to reunite. Based on William Goldman’s novel, The Princess Bride has earned a devoted following for its blend of adventure, comedy, and romance.
- Thursday, Jan. 2, 4 p.m.: Jumanji (1995), PG, 100 minutes
Robin Williams stars in this imaginative adventure about a mysterious board game that unleashes wild forces upon its players. With breathtaking special effects, Jumanji remains a family favorite filled with thrills and heart.
- Friday, Jan. 3, 4 p.m.: The Nightmare Before Christmas, PG, 76 minutes
Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, stumbles upon Christmas Town and decides to put his own spin on the holiday. Tim Burton’s stop-motion masterpiece delivers a magical and slightly spooky twist on seasonal traditions.
