PCHS Miners boys basketball games with West went south
PARK CITY, Utah — In three home games against the West High School Panthers on Friday, the Park City High School Miners boys basketball teams took the “L” for the trio of tries.
First up, right after school, was the Sophomore match and at their halftime, the score was Miners 7 – Panthers 25. The Panthers kept their lead until the end with a final score of 31 – 40.
Following that, the Freshman/JV game showed promise for Park City at halftime when they were up by one point against West at 27 – 26. Only to drop that slight margin by the final buzzer to lose 55 – 68.
Then the Varsity teams took to the court where they played until halftime and the scoreboard read 12 – 27 Panthers. The rest of the game had excitement as the Miners battled back from, what at one moment was a twenty point deficit, however weren’t able to pull through as the score posted in the end Park City 45 and West with the win at 54.
“The Miners all played hard tonight against West. PCHS Hall monitor/Safety Patrol/Assistant Soccer Coach, Senior Munzimi, told TownLift, He’s the only person who watched all three games. “Things didn’t necessarily end up the way they all would have hoped but the athletes should feel proud of their efforts and will try again next time.”
On balance, the Miners basketball program is doing well and marching confidently forward through the season as evidenced in last week’s girls games in which all three of their home games were won in one night.
Next up, both the Miners girls and boys basketball teams play away, against Jordan High after school tonight, Tuesday.
