MIDWAY, Utah — On December 1, the Midway Ice Skating Rink opened for another season of serving the public with recreational opportunities throughout the winter.
They feature public sessions daily, skate rentals, concessions, a warming hut, drop-in hockey availability, private and group lessons, private ice rentals, and group rates.
User groups, including the Park City Speedskating Club can schedule specific ice times. Keep an eye out for Friday afternoon or weekend morning Learn To Speedskate sessions being worked on to potentially start soon. For now, attend the final LTSS class at the Park City Ice Arena on Dec. 9. Then join the PCSSC in Park City for their ‘Fun Races’ on Dec. 15, where all skill levels are welcome.
I've lived in Park City for 30 years but right off the starting line, my journalism professors expressed plaudits after class for writing more so about the small-town sports in the surrounding mountains than the urban updates they assigned. Therefore, I’m on par punning and penning Parkites' pastimes. Turning high and early through my career, I’ve worked communications for The Olympics, the Paralympics and the Special Olympics. Additionally, there's been National Geographic, Patagonia, NCAA, USA Nordic and the United States Library of Congress, so I guess you could say this ain't my first rodeo.
