Fire up the shots: Park City challenged as Breck takes back shot ski World Record
PARK CITY, Utah – The shot ski world record, held by Park City, was recently bested by a crew of 1,401 at Breckenridge Distillery in Colorado. Breck now holds the world record for the longest shot ski which the town won back on December 13, 2024.
It’s a record that is propelled bigger and better between the friendly ski-town rivals each year.
Breckenridge’s record-breaking shot ski measured an impressive 2,477 feet in length, built from 503 skis and featuring 1,401 participants. They lined up on Main Street, cheers-ing with Breckenridge Broncos Bourbon or Candy Cane Vodka for the history books. Coordinating an event of this scale is no small task as anyone who’s attempted a smaller-scale shot ski can probably attest, but Park City has always been up for a challenge.
Let’s not forget, Park City held the title as recently as October, with 1,385 participants and around 550 connected skis. It’s clear this friendly rivalry between Park City and Breckenridge is far from over. Come next fall, Park City will be rallying community, getting fired up for ski season and lining Main once again to reclaim the record.
