All is bright: Park City torchlight parades set for Christmas Eve, Dec 30
PARK CITY, Utah— Park City’s mountains will light up this holiday season as Park City Mountain hosts its annual torchlight parade December 24 and Deer Valley Resort follows on December 30.
Park City Mountain is moving its 60-year Christmas Eve tradition to a new location at Canyons Village. The parade of ski instructors weaving down the mountain with torches will descend Raptor Way and Lower Doc’s run, ending at the Ski Beach at 6 p.m.
The Ski Beach viewing area is located between Red Pine Gondola and Orange Bubble.
Before the parade, Canyons Village will host carolers and a DJ from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by A Very Ryno Christmas performing until 6 p.m. The resort will serve complimentary cookies and cocoa starting at 4:30 p.m.
Deer Valley’s parade takes to Big Stick on December 30, adding fireworks for the first time following the dusk descent. The parade begins around 6 p.m., with hot chocolate, cider and cookies served at Snow Park Plaza from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
