Utah Olympic Park to open for uphill skiing in 2024-25 season
PARK CITY, Utah – The Utah Olympic Park is set to become the newest option for uphill skiers. Officials there have been whispering about opening a dedicated uphill route on the terrain at West Peak for more than a year and they say now they’re finally ready. For the 2024-25 season only a limited number of uphill season passes will be sold – approximately in the few hundreds, they say.
Marketing Director Melanie Welch said there will be three different uphill routes and the UOP will be open for skinning during daytime hours.
The UOP’s hours could be almost the exact opposite of the uphill hours at Park City Mountain Resort, which means if you wanted to, you could spend all day and night lapping local peaks. Access for those who nab a UOP pass will be the only uphill access open in sunny daytime hours in the local area.
Although the UOP has not put the passes up for sale yet, Welch said to keep an eye out on their website – they will go on sale around December 1. The pass price has not been finalized but Welch said many more details, including a map and hours about uphill access at the UOP will be available soon.
Uphill at Park City Mountain Resort
Park City plans to open for uphill skiing around the 15th of December, conditions and mountain operations pending. Communications Manager, Emily McDonald said PCMR will be open for uphill travel as it has in the past, between 6:00pm to 8:30am on the designated route only.
The designated route is from the bottom of First Time Lift, up Homerun to the Angle Station. Please follow the link to the resort web page for further details.
