Summit County surveys to guide General Plan updates available through Nov. 18
Residents, business owners, and visitors urged to weigh in on community priorities
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Summit County is moving forward with updates to its General Plans for Eastern Summit County and the Snyderville Basin, seeking public input through surveys available until November 18, 2024. These updates follow insights from the “Our Summit” community visioning process, which identified five key objectives to guide countywide planning and development decisions.
Why it matters:
The General Plans will shape land use, resource management, and community development decisions. By aligning updates with community-identified goals, Summit County aims to create a framework that meets residents’ needs now and in the future.
The details:
The “Our Summit” process outlined five guiding objectives:
- Manage natural resources
- Promote healthy living
- Preserve unique community identities
- Create inclusive communities
- Grow responsibly
County officials hope to gather public opinion on how these objectives should be prioritized and implemented in the community.
Survey focus:
Two separate surveys address the distinct needs of Eastern Summit County and the Snyderville Basin. The first survey focuses on managing natural resources and responsible growth, while the second delves into healthy living, identity preservation, and inclusivity.
