Park City restaurants talk turkey: Here’s what’s cooking this Thanksgiving

PARK CITY, Utah — Turkey-weary home cooks are getting a reprieve this Thanksgiving as Park City restaurants step up to handle the culinary heavy lifting.

More than a dozen members of the Park City Area Restaurant Association (PCARA) are offering everything from casual buffets to white-tablecloth feasts on Nov. 28, while some establishments are packaging traditional favorites for those who prefer the comfort of their own dining rooms.

“Those looking to take the pressure off the perfect Thanksgiving meal this season can look no further than our very own dining scene,” said PCARA executive director Ginger Wicks.

For those seeking a complimentary feast, both Annex Burger and No Name Saloon are serving up their “Free Bird Buffet” starting at 2 p.m. until supplies run out. Yes, you read that right — free turkey with all the fixings.

Football fans can catch the first two NFL games at Collie’s Sports Bar & Grill while tackling their turkey dinner, with doors open from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The luxury crowd can head to Goldener Hirsch, where Executive Chef Senthil is elevating holiday classics with carving stations, a seafood display, and — because why not? — a chocolate fountain. Live music and outdoor s’mores round out the $175 experience ($55 for kids under 10).

For those seeking a Mediterranean twist, Kaneo is serving up feta cornbread and turkey porchetta as part of their $89 three-course prix fixe menu. Wine pairings are available for an additional $29.

Several establishments are offering take-home feasts. Deer Valley Café, Hill’s Kitchen, Luna’s Kitchen (offering gluten-free options), Salt Box Eatery, and Windy Ridge Café are all packaging complete Thanksgiving meals with various pickup times between Nov. 26 to 28.

Other dine-in options include:
– Butcher’s Chop House & Bar ($55 adults, $38 kids)
– Escala Provisions Company ($79 adults, $39.50 kids 5-12, free under 5)
– Flanagan’s on Main ($50+ adults, $20+ kids under 12)
– Grub Steak ($46.75 adults, $25.75 kids under 12)
– Hearth and Hill (3-7 p.m.)
– Montage Deer Valley’s Apex ($95+ adults, $50+ kids)
– Sterling Steak & Lounge ($69 adults, $39 kids under 12)

Sweet tooths haven’t been forgotten: Windy Ridge Bakery is taking pre-orders for maple pecan, pumpkin spice, and mile-high apple pies through Nov. 19.

However, some local favorites are taking the holiday off. The following establishments will be closed: 350 Main, Billy Blanco’s, Boneyard Saloon, Chimayo, Courchevel Bistro, Fletcher’s, Ghidotti’s, Grappa, High West Distillery (including The Refectory and Nelson Cottage), Pine Cone Ridge, Riverhorse on Main, Shabu, The Spur Bar & Grill, Sushi Blue, Tupelo, Twisted Fern, Windy Ridge Bakery, and Windy Ridge Café.
